Mazda RX8 Wins 24 Hour Daytona
Mazda has managed to win at the Rolex 24 Hour Daytona race which took place last weekend in Florida. The Mazda RX8 run by the Castrol Syntec SpeedSource with drivers Sylvain Tremblay, David Haskell, Nick Ham, and Jonathan Bomarito at the wheel took the checkered flag in the GT class. The Castrol Syntec SpeedSource Mazda RX8 qualified third and had a tough time winning the race. The Mazda RX8 lost a lap due to a caution flag and then lost another six laps as it was hit by a Daytona Prototype. The Mazda RX8 managed to take the lead after 562 and almost 20 hours of non-stop racing. In the end, the Mazda RX8 completed 707 laps of the 4km Daytona track with a total distance of over 3.000km
